Boarding

Walker Farms is a smaller boarding stable, and so we are able to offer individualized care and attention to each horse. We provide clean, fresh water that is heated in the winter months to ensure each horse drinks enough. Pasture horses have 24-hour access to clean grass round bales, and paddock horses are fed ample quantities of grass square bales. We also provide twice-daily grain, feeding a special sweet feed blend targeted to help each horse maintain body condition without having excess 'hot' energy. All of this is included in our boarding price. We will also feed any special feeds or supplements as long as the owner provides them.
Our indoor arena is a Coverall. During the daytime ambient sunlight keeps the arena bright and warm, and at night there are two bright halogen lights that illuminate the entire arena without creating dark spaces or deep shadows. The footing is nice soft sand, and there is ample room to school basic ring figures or set up practice jumps.

We have a 100 x 200 foot outdoor grass-footing arena completed, but with the wet and chilly fall weather it probably will be out of use until spring!
There is a safe enclosed tack room in our main barn for boarders to store tack, extra feed they may have provided, blankets, buckets, and any other accessories their horse may come with.
Boarders will receive a discount on farrier services provided by George. The current rate for an on-farm trim for a boarded horse is $27, which is a $5 savings off the regular price.
