Boarding

As a smaller stable,
Walker Farms is able to get to know each horse personally, which we
believe helps us to give each equine the best care. We offer pasture
and paddock boarding in our valley in western Wisconsin. The pasture
group usually contains between five and twelve horses, and the
paddock groups are no larger than four. Each area has its own
shelter, fresh water (with tank heaters in the winter), and hay. In
the summer, the pasture group grazes in a rotation to help keep the
grass growing. Pasture horses are fed free-choice round bales in the wintertime, and paddock horses receive square bales year-round. In
addition, all
horses are fed grain twice daily.
Walker Farms has an indoor Coverall arena and a 100 x 200 outdoor arena. The Coverall is light and airy, and stays well-lit throughout the daytime hours. At night, the arena is illuminated by two large lights and stays virtually shadow-free. We have several sets of jump standards and poles, as well as cones, barrels, a tarp, lariats, and straw bales for use in the arena, for everything from jumping to trail to barrel racing.

Our hope is to excavate the outdoor arena this summer and add sand footing to that space. Watch for an update!
