Available For Adoption

Sterling

In training through the MHARF Trainer's Challenge - visit www.mnhoovedanimalrescue.org and click on 'Trainer's Challenge' to stay updated with our blog!

Sterling's story is a sad case of neglect - he lived in a stall for about 4 out of 5 of his years. He was literally a prisoner in a stall - while he was fed hay and given water, he wasn't taken out of the stall, and when he came here he had never been turned outside before.

Sterling is now living out in paddock with his new best friend, Dillon, and is in training for the MnHARF Trainer's Challenge, which will happen on August 14th. He is a super pleasure-bred horse, and a lovely grey guy with lots of leg and a wonderful disposition. Check him out!

Horses Adopted From MHARF

Rabbit

Rabbit was adopted two years ago from MHARF. He and I competed for two seasons in dressage and eventing, and were very much looking forward to this summer. Unfortunately, Rabbit colicked on January 28 of this year and developed a twist in his gut. We had to put this beautiful boy down that afternoon. It was a tragic loss that we still feel deeply, and he will be very, very missed.

Mister Guyana

The day Guy arrived at Walker Farms                         About four weeks later

Guy is a 14 year old OTTB. He is a big, gangly guy who jumps like a freight train. He is a lot of fun, a big, bold horse to ride, and is figuring out how the world of dressage and jumping differs from the racetrack. He has been great to work with, and the more he and I get to know and trust each other the better things get. We just did our first show together and hope to compete in two schooling horse trials this summer.

Liliana

Lili is a 2-year-old warmblood cross whom I adopted about 1 1/2 years ago. She is absolutely adorable, and has been fun to work with so far! She was started under saddle last winter, but injured a tendon in her knee while playing in the slippery spring snow, so has had some time off for rehab. She will hopefully be ultrasounded to determine if she is still a suitable candidate for eventing.
